Minimalist Southern Italian Wedding

Agnesa and Francesco are a very unconventional, modern couple. They knew they didn’t want the very traditional Italian wedding. Instead they decided to elope and create this minimalist southern Italian wedding dream. It was always going to be hard and expensive to have their vision incorporated at a big, over-100-people wedding, and so they decided to have two celebrations. The first one was to celebrate their love with only a handful of their closest of friends and exactly the way they had imagined it. They found the Masseria Moroseta in Puglia and they fell in love with this magical place. It has all the minimalistic elements that they love combined with the southern Italy feel.

Their wedding day started with waking up together at this magnificent venue. They allowed us to capture these intimate moments in bed before they prepared for their ceremony together. Agnesa wanted to feel comfortable and therefore got a beautiful, textured, simple gown from Cortana Bridal with the softest silk tulle you can imagine. Francesco wore a dark suit and a white shirt, which complemented his blue eyes to perfection.

The ceremony on this hot day in September, took place under a shady spot in the beautiful garden of the Masseria. It was filled with the prettiest plants of this area. Inspired by the venue, the styling of the wedding table was kept very simple to highlight the minimalistic elements. Planner and stylist, Weddings by Silke, used just an antique white runner, napkins by Silk + Willow and the beautiful handmade porcelain of the Masseria Moroseta.

The couple stayed a couple of nights at the Masseria to really enjoy the venue. This was a completely modern and non traditional elopement. They chose film photography as they knew they wanted to ensure that the memory of this day would last forever. And we are so glad we got to capture it all for them. A month later, Agnesa and Francesco did have a big party that their family organized. This was to celebrate with their wider family and it gave them the best of both worlds. “Who said you can’t have it all?”
