The recipe for a successful Scotland Flavoured Wedding in Australia would be to add some kilts and a little rain of course. You can plan and plan and plan, but life can still throw a major curveball on your wedding day. Even in sub-tropical New South Wales, the weather is unpredictable and Georgie and Luke woke up to rain on the day of their nuptials, which hung around all day. But did they let it ruin the celebration? Certainly not! Armed with umbrellas and good spirits, the couple married in a stylish soirée at the beautiful Somerley House
Georgie and Luke’s wedding day was a timeless affair. Set at wonderful Somerley House in Sutton Forest, florist Botanica Style Co. took inspiration from the lush gardens in full bloom and laced her abundant floral designs throughout the ceremony and reception. A neutral palette of nude, peach and coffee tones looked striking against the verdant foliage and stylish taupe bridesmaid gowns.
No Scotland Flavoured wedding in Australia would be complete without a bagpipe. Georgie’s brother provided an atmospheric bagpipe entrance at the ceremony and the reception to celebrate their Scottish heritage. Although the ceremony was originally planned to take place outside in gardens and had to be moved inside due to consistent rain on the day, the moody skies, kilts and umbrellas made for some beautifully dramatic images that perfectly complimented the Scottish flair of the day.
